HeyJinni Overview

HeyJinni allows users, who sign-up for free profiles, to connect with friends, work colleagues or people they don’t know, online. It allows users to share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as well as their own thoughts and opinions with however many people they like.

Users send “friend requests” to people who they may – or may not – know. Once accepted, the two profiles are connected with both users able to see whatever the other person posts. “Jinnies” can post almost anything to their “timeline”, a snapshot of what is happening in their social circle at any given time, and can also enter private or group chats with other friends who are online.

Jinnies with profiles list information about themselves. Whether it be what they work at, where they are studying, ages, or other personal details, many users post lots of information which is easily accessible to their friends and others. On top of this, users can “like” other pages which interest them. For example, a Manchester United supporter can follow the club by linking up with its HeyJinni page. There, the user can post comments and receive club updates, pictures etc.

Additionally, users can promote their business by advertising it, post and fill vacancies, create groups, blogs, and join forums.

People from any walk of life can create a HeyJinni profile. You could be a lawyer, doctor, freelancer, web developer, carpenter, builder, student, taxi driver, preacher, fashion enthusiast, etc. You can use HeyJinni’s private and group chat functionalities to securely communicate with your friends, family or business clients.

Privacy Management

What information is public?
Information you share is always public, unless and subject to what is listed below, you limit visibility to certain groups only such as private (visible only to you) or friends: Some of the information you give us when you fill in your profile is public, such as your age range, language and country. We also use a part of your profile, called your public profile, to help connect you with friends and family. Your public profile includes your name, gender, username and user ID (account number), profile picture and cover photo. This info is also public. Some of the ways that this helps us connect you are:
  • Your name, profile picture and cover photo help people recognise you.
  • Gender helps us describe you (e.g. “Add her as a friend”).
  • Listing your networks (e.g. school, workplace) allows others to find you more easily.
  • Username and user ID (e.g. your account number) are in the URL of your profile.
  • Age range helps provide you with age-appropriate content.
  • Language and country help us provide appropriate content and experiences.
When you choose to share something with the Public (e.g. when you select Everyone from the audience selector), it’s considered public information. If you share something and you don’t see an audience selector or another privacy setting, that information is also public.
Stuff other people share: If other people share info about you, even if it’s something you shared with them but didn’t make public, they can choose to make it public. Also when you comment on other people’s public posts, your comment is public as well.
Posts on Heyjinni Pages or public groups: HeyJinni Pages and public groups are public spaces. Anyone who can see the Page or group can see your post or comment. Generally, when you post or comment on a Page or to a public group, a story can be published to the News Feed as well as other places on or off Heyjinni.

Use your privacy settings to manage your digital footprint. Social media is a great way to stay in touch with family, friends and keep up to date on the latest news. However, it’s important to know how to manage the security and privacy settings on your accounts, so that your personal information remains inaccessible to anyone but you.

Use 2-step verification (2SV) to protect your accounts

2-step verification (often shortened to 2SV and sometimes called two-factor authentication) provides a way of ‘double checking’ that you really are the person you are claiming to be when you’re using online services, such as social media, banking or email. Even if a criminal (or someone simply looking to cause mischief) knows your password, they won’t be able to access any of your accounts that are protected using 2SV.

It’s worth exercising some caution when using social media. Not everyone using social media is necessarily who they say they are. Take a moment to check if you know the person, and if the friend/link/follow is genuine.

Less obviously, you should think about your digital footprint, which is a term used to describe the entirety of information that you post online, including photos and status updates. Criminals can use this publicly available information to steal your identity, or use it to make phishing messages more convincing. You should:

  • Think about what you’re posting, and who has access to it. Have you configured the privacy options so that it’s only accessible to the people you want to see it?
  • Consider what your followers and friends need to know, and what detail is unnecessary (but could be useful for criminals).
  • Have an idea about what your friends, colleagues or other contacts say about you online.

  • Ad Clicks, or simply Clicks, is a marketing metric that counts the number of times users have clicked on a digital advertisement to reach an online property.
  • Ad Impressions (IMPR) is a count of the total number of times digital advertisements display on someone’s screen within the publisher’s network.
  • Cost by Clicks is cost per click and cost by view is cost per impression.
  • You can select any option. For CBC your wallet is automatically charged 0.05 per click, and for CBV your wallet automatically charged 0.5 per View.
  • You must have funds in your wallet to place ads.
  • Cost by Clicks is cost per click and cost by view is cost per impression.
  • When you create an ad, you can check your ad analytics on your dashboard.
  • Activate the refund request. If the sum is disputed, we will put it on hold until the dispute is resolved.
  • No, your HeyJinni account does not get suspended. Unlike other platforms we recognise mistakes can be made. We do not punish users for raising refund requests.

Ad Campaign Credit & Wallet

Your wallet is your account. When you add money to your account or HeyJinni adds ad credit to your account, they all go to your wallet (account). We use wallet instead of account since the wallet may contain earned points (which can be redeemed or transferred) or a user’s own money (which can be used to run ad campaigns).

At HeyJInni a distinction is made between user “Wallet Ad Credit” (WAC) and user “Funded Wallet Credit” (FWC). WAC is non-monetary ad credit gift earned by a user through a HeyJinni ad credit special promotional programme, which can be redeemed to run ad campaigns. FWC is where a user adds own money to their wallet to run ad campaigns or use some other HeyJinni premium feature.

An ad or ad campaign credit is a form of payment for your ads on HeyJinni.

You can receive a HeyJinni ad campaign credit in five ways:

  • Through special HeyJinni promotions/offers.
  • Through HeyJinni Earn Points Programme (see section on Earn Points Programme).
  • Through HeyJinni Affiliate Programme (see section on HeyJinni Affiliate Programme).
  • Through adding funds to your wallet.

Currently, you can’t add ad credit to your wallet or purchase or request ad credit directly from HeyJinni. However, you should be able to add ad campaign credit to your wallet in the near future.

When you redeem an ad credit (mon-monetary gift), it’ll pay for all advertising costs that you accrue on your account. This includes every ad running on your ad account, in addition to the one you created to redeem your ad credit. As long as you’re running an ad, your ad credit will be charged daily until it runs out or expires.

If you have WAC, your campaign will draw from this balance first. If your ad is still ongoing when the WAC is used up, it will draw from your FWC (primary payment method). Note: This feature might not be available to you at the moment.

Yes, you can but the recipient cannot convert it to money to withdraw. Different rules apply to our Affiliate & Points Programmes.

No, you cannot withdraw WAC as it is a non-monetary gift to run ads, not an Earning from our Affiliate or Points Programmers. It can never be converted into money but only redeemed to run ads.

No, you cannot transfer your FWC to anyone. It is for your sole use only. HeyJinni takes money laundering regulations seriously.

No, you cannot withdraw your FWC. It is your responsibility to add such amount as is deemed necessary to run your ad campaigns on HeyJinni.

Currently, this is not available to users. HeyJinni will introduce this feature in November 2022. We will update this space when we launch this programme.
